BODY SHOP CLEANSER VS POND'S COLD CREAM

Originally, my plan was to make a review on Body Shop Natrulift Cleanser. When I was looking for my cotton pad, I accidentally saw my Pond’s Cold Cream. I remember how I used to love it. It’s so affordable and works in removing make-up. But, this past few days I was really not into using it. Why? Because I fell inlove with my Body Shop Natrulift Cleanser.

To show you the reason why, I decided to do a “Sophie Magic Pink Cream Test.” For your info, Sophie magic pink cream is the longest lasting make-up I had. It stays amazingly the whole day. So, I decided to test which cleanser can remove my pink cream.

I put the same amount of sophie magic pink cream at the back of my hands and let it dry for few minutes.

First to test, POND’S COLD CREAM!
Get ready Pond’s Cold Cream.
I put quite good amount of product at the back of my hands. You can see that it has a thick consistency.
 Wipe it off and tada…

Almost all the magic cream’s gone now! Though you can still see some “pinkness,” but it’s quite acceptable. What I hate about this product (during the test) is the greasiness after the product has been wiped off. Look, it’s shiny! It does feel oily on skin but will be gone after washing your face with  your cleanser/facial wash.

Oh I’m excited to do the 2nd test using BODY SHOP NATRULIFT CLEANSER
I did the same with 1st test. Put generous amount of the product at the back of my hands. If you notice, the consistency of this is more liquidy compared to Pond’s Cold Cream.
 Spreads it.
And wiped off.

  And TADA!
100% gone! Amazing right? Plus, no shine! I’m inlove with this product! (except for the price!) And it’s amazing! It’s my favorite product in their Natrulift Skincare Range.
So, the winner in “SOPHIE MAGIC PINK CREAM TEST” is BODY SHOP NATRULIFT…
Left: Pond's Cold Cream (shines and still has sophie magic pink cream)
Right: Body Shop Natrulift Cleanser

Oh well, but I still love POND’S COLD CREAM… because it’s affordable! If you’re not actually using lots of make-up or long lasting make-up, I would recommend this as it’s still good in removing make-up. I still remember how good this is in removing my Maybelline Waterproof Mascara.

PROS AND CONS

POND’S COLD CREAM

PROS
>Very affordable, Approximately Php100. (I forgot na!;p)
> 1 jar lasts me a long time!
> Wash off with water and it will leave your skin amazingly clean, smooth and soft.
>AFFORDABLE.. AGAIN! ;P

CONS
>The smell! I hate the strong scent.
>The moment you applied it on your face, it feels oily, heavy and waxy. You have to get used to it. Haha. But wash it off with water and the shines and all will disappear.

Some people might find products in tube… uhm… unhygienic. If you’re quite sensitive, use spatula or cotton buds. Or just make sure you have clean hands. And never double dip your hands. Get as much as you want and put it on your face. It’s okay if you put too many products. I don’t mind wasting as they are affordable rather than dipping my hands again. LOL!

BODY SHOP NATRULIFT CLEANSER

PROS
>Unlike pond’s cold cream, it comes in a pump. I don’t like wasting product on this one lol! Discrimination! Who cares? It’s more expensive. Hahaha!
>Love the scent. It’s mild! (Basta, it’s hard to describe! ;p)
>Makes my skin soft and smooth and super clean
>Anti-aging!

CONS
>Expensive, Php 1025.
>WARNING: The 1st time I apply this product, I was really panicking. It hurts like hell. It feels like it’s burning my skin hahaha! But, you’ll get use to it… I hope so ;p

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION

“New Year, New Life.” Do things better this year! And to do this, it’s important to make a “NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION”. It’s the time where we reflect on the things that happened in the past and make a list of the things we should keep doing and we shouldn’t be doing in the coming New Year. But I’m sure most people don’t agree that New Year’s Resolution can help you start your life anew. Way back year and years ago, I don’t really make New Year’s Resolution unless I was asked by my teachers. Why? Because I have to spend 365 days keeping my New Year’s Resolution. So, why make a list if you can’t keep it right? I’ll just go with the flow of life this coming year. Until, one day, I realize the importance of setting goals. It directs your life into something better. The key to achieve New Year’s Resolution is to keep it simple. Plan your goals in such a way that it is possible for you to achieve it in 365 days. You don’t need to list 100 items in your resolution. 1-2 New Year’s resolution can be good enough. List only things you are willing to exert efforts. If you keep doing the things in your list, it will become your habits. Always start your New Year’s Resolution in something simple then list things harder the next year and hardest the coming years. Take one step at a time.

I would like to share to you my New Year’s Resolution this coming 2011. I notice that I spend most of my money buying makeup. Yes, it’s nice to feel beautiful. But does make-up really makes me beautiful?
This year, I was more concerned on buying make-ups to make my skin looks better. I never realized that I was already putting tons of layers on my face from primer, moisturizer, bb cream, full coverage foundation, concealers, blush-on, to finishing powder, lipsticks, lipbalms, gel liners and more! Yes, sometimes it makes me happy to see that my skin looks good “with” make-ups on. But my real skin gets hurt and damaged! So, I would like to start this coming year LIGHT and RIGHT. I will start by applying light make-up, spends little on make-up and more on skin care. I think it would be nicer if you spend your money on things that can prettify your skin without makeup. Who knows, in time, I could go out even without make-ups on. So, yes, I’m on my new journey of finding my new HG… HG Skincare Products. Wish me luck ladies

The Body Shop Natrulift Softening Facial Wash

Since its summer break, I have all the time in the world to blog! Yey!

After few days of using this, I think I’m now ready to give my review on The Body Shop Natrulift Facial Wash.

This facial wash comes in their Natrulift skincare line, which uses pomegranate extract as a natural alternative to retinol--in essence, it reduces the signs of skin aging in the most natural way possible. I’ll be reviewing other products in this line when I’m ready.
At first, I hesitate on using the products in their skincare line because I’m still young to have fine lines though, admittedly, I do have wrinkles now. After consulting some people regarding using Anti-aging products at my young age, I decided to give it a try.
This facial wash comes in 100ml tube which is good enough for the price. Most facial wash nowadays come in 100g products. I don’t really like products that use grams instead of ml because you don’t really know how much products are inside the tube.  (except for water, as 1grams=1 ml, because density is 1).
One thing I notice about this range is that they all have the same scent. I’m pretty lame in describing scents so yes, I can’t explain how it smells but I really do like the smell. Compared to other products this one smells light which I like. I can’t say it smells like pomegranate since I haven’t even seen pomegranate since birth lol!

Body shop says,
“Minimize the signs of aging and create a velvety-looking complexion with a softly-cleansing and refreshing facial wash.”

Key ingredients
Brazil nut oil -Moisturizes and helps to leave skin feeling soft.
Glycerin -Is an effective moisturizer which helps improve softness and maximize hydration.

I would say that this is an effective facial wash. It cleanses just like other facial washes in the market.  Though, what I like  most about this product is how it made my skin feels softer after washing. Most facial wash leaves a tight feeling in my face but this one, it doesn’t. It feels great that I can’t help myself but to touch my skin and feels how incredibly softer it was after washing.
For “minimize the signs of aging” effect, I can’t still tell you  how effective this product is as I don’t have fine lines to see the result. But, i notice that it doesn't help minimize the appearance of my wrinkles.

Overall, I wouldn’t think this is an A+++ product but yes, it’s a good buy especially if don’t mind spending money for skincare… but I do… so yes, I would still think if I would repurchase this one. It’s quite expensive for my taste. Though, when this runout, maybe I would look for a good substitute for this. Since I started using Anti-aging products, I decided to continue using anti-aging products to “prevent” wrinkles and fine lines. I’m eyeing Olay products.

PROS:
>Cleanses
>Smells good
>Leaves skin amazingly softer than before

CONS
>Expensive
>Does not minimize the appearance of my wrinkles "SO FAR".. let's see after emptying this tube ;p

PRICE: Php 995.00 at The Body Shop
Rate: 4/5
Would I repurchase: It’s a good product but yes, I’m cheap so maybe not. Maybe, I’ll just look for an alternative.
