Krave Minerale Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator

Ever since I posted my Mini-makeup area here, I’ve been receiving questions about Krave Minerals Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator.
OIL ELIMINATOR and SKIN HYDRATOR with Pearl powder (mineral primer & finishing powder)
100% VEGAN & GLUTEN FREE
HYPOALLERGENIC
NON- COMEDOGENIC (won’t clog pores)
NON-ACNEGENIC (won’t cause acne break outs)

We highly recommend Krave Minerale’s OIL ELIMINATOR and SKIN HYDRATOR not just for oily gals but for all make up users out there.

OIL ELIMINATOR and SKIN HYDRATOR is translucent so it won’t interfere with other mineral makeup colors you are wearing. Plus, it is specifically formulated to virtually erase the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles & large pores when applied.

SKIN BENEFICIAL KEY INGREDIENTS:
Our formula includes 2 of the healthiest ingredients:
1. PEARL POWDER that aids in healing, skin brightening, anti-wrinkling, and sun protection. It also exfoliates the skin and promotes new cell regeneration.
2. SODIUM HYALURONATE the world’s powerful skin hydrator which brings balance to your complexion & keeps your make up application fresh all day long.

APPLICATION:
Apply it before (as a make up primer) and after (as a finishing powder/veil) to control oil breakthrough all through out the day and for a long-wearing make up effect.

Ingredients: Silica,Pearl Powder, Aqua (Water), Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid)

PRICE:
15 gram jar P285

For online shopping, packaging is really important! Packaging becomes the customer’s first impression since the buyers cannot test the products yet; they simply judge the products on what they see. When I saw this product from the site, I honestly neglected it. Until one day I woke up and everyone was raving about it! Being a beauty blogger, I want to know what’s the rave all about?

And so I ordered to Katrina, the sexy and pretty owner of Krave Minerals, one Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator. Then she texted me that she can send one Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator for me for free! Isn’t she the nicest?

Packaging:

It comes in a simple yellow container with an applicator. The thing I hate about the packaging is that it is such a pain in the arse to open. If you already had this powder, I’m quite sure you will agree with me. But again... everyone started from nothing , right? I still remember some mineral makeup I used before; they all started in this cheap-kind of packaging.

This powder reminds me a lot of my Ellana High Definition Powder Primer which I had long long time ago.

Ellana HD Definition powder primer and Krave Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator powders are finely milled.

I even remember the days when I hold my breath while applying Ellana HD powder primer because it sure does make me cough/sneeze whenever I inhaled some products in the air. However, I never had that experience with Krave Oil Eliminator … simple reason why I prefer Krave more than Ellana. (I was thinking of repurchasing Ellana for the sake of comparing them but I’m not yet sure).

I like that Krave does not contains nano particles which are somehow bad for health when inhaled. To those who don’t know what nano particles are, these are extremely small micronized particles ( about 1 x 10^-9 or 1 billionth of a meter). Some companies used nano particles in makeup according to this article  to produces a lustrous, smooth and glow-like finish to the skin and enhances the feel and appearance of the product itself however, pose a serious health risk when inhaled or absorbed into the body. When inhaled, nanoparticles can become imbedded into the walls of the lungs, making it impossible for the body to remove these foreign particles. Loose mineral make-up that includes nanoparticle form ingredients, therefore, can be a health risk, especially to those who suffer from bronchial conditions.

Krave Minerale Oil Eliminator and Skin hydrator comes in a white-translucent powder. It feels soft, smooth and flawless on skin.

What’s great about it is you can use it as primer and as finishing veil. In my case, I use it as finishing veil.

If you’re currently using a powder foundation, this can be a great primer and perfect for touch-ups.

If you’re into using liquid foundation, you may use this powder to set your foundation.

According to some bloggers, this product is amazing in oil control and making your makeup lasts longer. However, in my case, this product does not really make my makeup lasts the whole day during this time of the year.  The weather in the Philippines is just so freaking hot and everything I put in my face melt so easily. Do you remember my favorite “superb” Nyx HD primer which amazingly makes my makeup seriously stay the WHOOOOLLLLEEE Day (I did a review on December)? Guess what! It has no match for summer! Unless, you stay in air-conditioned room, this powder will melt easily on you.

For me during summer, this product will best work as an Oil Eliminator (just like what the product name says!).  This is a perfect powder for touch-ups. I found out that during the middle of the day, when my foundation is already fading away and my skin is like an oil ready for frying eggs, this powder works wonderfully. It is very light on skin (unlike foundation) and instantly removes shine on my face. Although, it is white in color, this powder does not leave white-cast on my face unlike ordinary powders.
It is much easier to blend compared to ordinary powders.
Another cool thing about this product is that it makes my face look matte (removes shine) but not totally flat. It has a slight sheen to it making your face look brighter.

Overall, I highly recommend it to all makeup users. It does a great job in preparing your skin for makeup application by making your skin soft and smooth and also a great powder to sets your makeup.

This product would be much more amazing if it will be in a nicer packaging with a mirror for touch-ups. If Krave could recreate this product in a compact powder (just like Mally’s beauty Evercolor Poreless Face Defender), this would definitely be an HG material for everybody.

PROS
-   -Brightens up your skin
-  -As a primer, it makes your skin smooth and soft making your skin a perfect canvass for makeup
-  -Great setting powder as it’s colorless / translucent so it won’t interfere on the shade of foundation you’re wearing

Maybelline Pure Mineral vs In2it Oil Control Foundation

Foundation is one of my-can’t-live-without-makeup thing-y. I’m sure I’m not alone right ladies? If I had to bring with me only one make-up, I will definitely choose foundation.

For me, good foundation is a foundation that will not break me out, will make my skin looks healthy and bright, no harmful chemicals and is not cakey when applied.

I’ve been looking for a mineral foundation compact for quite a long time before I finally had this. I was a big fan of compact foundation because they’re much easy to bring and more convenient to use. Before, I had been using the Clearsmooth Mineral foundation of Maybelline but I find it a little inconvenient for my taste. I am a person who always in hurry (especially when I have to go to school at 8am) and sometimes, I do some of my makeup while travelling. Since clearsmooth mineral is in powder form and doesn’t have mirror in it, I find it hard to use while travelling. Although it is a great product, I just can’t stick to it since it is not convenient for me. That is the only thing that hinders me from having clearsmooth mineral as my HG (holy grail) foundation.

Anyway, you know that my Holy Grail Foundation is from IN2IT because it is a compact foundation, the color selection is great for yellow undertone and the coverage is really good. BUT I felt like my skin is getting bad with daily use of this compact. Inspite of that, I couldn’t let it go since it’s my HG Foundation and you know what HG means right? So, when I found out about the new line of Maybelline, I knew I have to try this.
I have 2 compact and 3 refills. You'll know later the reason why I have 2 compact with me

Yes, you have to purchase the refill and the compact separately. It was a bit pricier than I expected it would be but whatever, I know I really have to get this. It is indeed rare to find mineral foundation in compact for a drugstore brand.

The refill comes with a powder and a good quality sponge

Anyway, I would like this post to be a comparison between my Used-to-be HG and my RECENTLY-HG foundation.

Compact:

Both come in a lovely compact. You could tell that In2it is more for teenager as it comes in a pinky girly mirror-liked compact foundation while Maybelline looks more professional than the latter one.

Rear view:

In in2it compact, you could see place where you could put the sticker of the shade so you’ll be guided on the shade of foundation. Another plus, the ingredients are also written in the sticker and the wt of the product.

While in Maybelline, I just randomly put the sticker of the shade which I got from the refill packaging onto the case.

Durability:
My in2it compact fell off my bags, hands etc. gazillion times already but I was still surprise that the compact is still working great!

If you have read my tweets weeks ago, you already know that this is my 2nd Maybelline Compact foundation. I was in ACE Water Spa that time. I was trying to reach for my swimsuit when I heard a bit of a crack. Then, I saw my compact sitting on the floor. Damn it. Honestly, it took me some time before I decided to open the case. I was scared to open it as it was only 1 week  old back then.

When I opened the compact, the foundation was all around the compact.
I was really sad but atleast the mirror is still intact. No cracks or anything. I was somehow relieved that I wouldn’t have to buy another compact, just the refill.
But when I tried closing the compact, it wouldn’t close. I was very disappointed! I just waste Php 699 for a foundation that wouldn’t last me a week. BUT, it was all my fault. I couldn’t blame the durability of the compact since it was 5 ft high.  But in all fairness, to see that the mirror of the compact is still at one piece, I was greatly impressed.

Amount and Price:
In2it compact is cheaper and contains more product compared to Maybelline.

In2it refill costs me Php 440. I forgot how much compact+refill really costs me but I think it’s around Php 650. One pan contains 9g.

Maybelline compact and refill are sold separately. Compact costs me Php 250 while the foundation refill is Php 449. Together, they cost Php 699. It contains 7.5g.

Coverage and Lasting Power:
Both offer great coverage. Although, I personally think that In2it is better than Maybelline in terms of coverage. But there wasn’t a big difference though. If In2it could cover 85-90% of my acne marks, Maybelline would cover 80-85%;

In terms of lasting power, both are great too. I couldn’t really tell which lasts long but normally, I do retouch 1-2x within a day with any of the foundation.

Other special points:
I would say that considering the Price, Amount and Coverage of product, In2it will win this. BUT,  I wouldn’t say that it is something I could use for the rest of my life. My skin is getting bad with continuous use of this product. It does contain parabens too. While, Maybelline so far, I haven’t experienced any breaking out plus I felt like this is something I could use for a very long time since it is MINERAL and it does not contain PARABENS.

So in this battle, Maybelline Pure Pact Mineral WINS!

Anyway. I'm still using the powder on my 1st compact. I transferred it on my clearsmooth minerals case. Yay! Still using it when I'm not in hurry or to retouch.

Left: Maybelline Pure Mineral in OC2
Right: In2it Oil Control in Warm Beige
I wish shades of Maybelline is labeled with name instead of letters and numbers. It's quite hard to remember :))

  • Benefit : UV protection, Mineral enriched
  • Skin types : Normal
  • Formula : Pressed powder
  • Shades : Light Beige and Natural Beige

How to use: (from www.luview.com)

Why you should get this?

It has crystal, pearl, amethyst; etc that generate the splendid jewelry gloss to make skin looks shiny and glowing.

It has natural mineral ingredients that heightens skin friendliness and vegetable ingredients with soothing effect

It is an ultra-fine satin powder that covers  skin problems naturally and maintain the makeup just the way it is

It is a special sebum control powder that prevents lumping phenomenon and stain by excessive sebum and sweat

Packaging:

Have you tried having a good product but you couldn't bring it out and use in public places because it looks so cheap? I admit! I went through with that.  And I’m glad that I won’t be going through again because this is something you would love to show off.

Luview is very consistent with their packaging, from the BB Cream to Powder and even Eyeshadow palette. Everything looks very expensive. For me, red and gold is just a perfect combination. It is indeed very elegant and luxurious. The packaging is very true to its name. It comes in a “crystal-like” packaging that is very sophisticated.
The powder has two compartments so you’ll have a separate compartment for the powder and powder puff. The powder puff that comes in the packaging is oh! So soft and good! It makes the application even easier and smoother. Plus it has this lace where you slip your hands to hold on the puff while applying the powder. I usually do a “tap-ing”  motion rather than dragging the powder puff on my face.

Color/Texture:

The only problem with Korean products is they usually offer limited shades for powders. Most of their shades are for fair to medium skintone. I’m not sure what shade I got since I can’t read Korean but I’m pretty sure I have it in Natural Beige because I think Light beige would be way lighter than my skintone. Anyway, the powder is just right for my skintone. The powder is actually good for Asian women because it has a yellow undertone to it.

The texture is smooth and the powder is finely milled.

Coverage/Oil Control/Staying Power:
The coverage is very sheer, looks natural and skin-like. It doesn’t cake on me; just don’t try to add too much layer because it tends to cake if you add too much . It is a perfect combination for bb cream as it sets your bb cream. It doesn’t feel heavy too.

If you like more coverage, I suggest that you use concealer first. It would be much better to conceal spots rather than using a heavy coverage foundation on your face to conceal them.

It mattifies your face which is perfect if you have oily-skin. The powder stays only for 4-5 hours on my face, then after that I have to retouch again.

Would I recommend this?
Definitely! I’ve been using this everyday together with my Luview BB Cream or Skin79 BB Cream.

AVON SIMPLY PRETTY SHINE NO MORE DUAL POWDER FOUNDATION

(picture to follow)

When I decided to buy this, I was expecting too much. Again, GirlTalk... very influencial! Lol! Just like the old times, I bought this because of the raves. I was about to pick Light Beige when the Avon Lady told me that my shade is in almond. So, okay. You’re the seller. Maybe, you know my shade in Avon better. Again, it’s only 199. It doesn’t hurt to try.

So, i went home and tried the foundation. WHAT THE HELL! This is soooo white! Again. It doesn’t hurt to try. I put in on my cabinet and promise myself never to try it again! LOL! Until one day, I ran out a powder (Elf studio line in Beige). So, I decided to make use of this since I only have 2 full coverage foundations left, my In2it and Avon. And I know you know how in2it broke me out. So, no no. I’d rather use the whiter one than suffer with zits all over my face. So, to cut it short. I use this one. I wet the sponge. I dunno why I always wet the sponge when the foundation is lighter than my skin tone. Guess my instinct told me so. So, I applied it. And guess what. It’s lighter than the first time I tried it. Whatever. So, I stayed home with face looking like a ghost. And after 30 minutes, it oxidizes on me. Believe me! It does! I don’t know why. I read reviews about this product and it never oxidized on them But, it oxidized on me like hell! If people would think that’s cons for me. It wasn’t. At least now, I can use it every now and then. It makes me happy when a thing I thought was useless suddenly works for me. Maybe, less than a month, I will be hitting the pan! BUT, I can’t still decide now if I will buy again since I bought a new powder this morning. Guess what, I bought Maybelline Clear smooth minerals foundation. I know you know how much I hate loose powder. Originally, I was going to buy Maybelline Angelfit. But hey hey, maybe I should stop rambling on how messy mineral makeup. It’s good for my skin! So I told myself, “Eloisa, let your face breathe!” Maybe, I would try Maybelline Angelfit when I’m almost done with this one.

Anyways, too much off topic again. Pardon me ladies. So here’s my Pros and Cons on Avon Simply Pretty Dual Foundie

PROS
>Light to full coverage. 80% of my pimple marks were covered.
>Good oil control. Lasted me more than 6 hours without retouching.
>Cheap and has SPF
>I like the packaging. Better than Elf studio line foundation

CONS
>Limited shade. Almond is lighter and natural (next darker shade) is dark on me
>Oxidized on me (maybe, that’s just me! But really, it oxidized on me!  )

PRICE: Php 250 but got it on sale, Php 199.
Rate: 4/5
Would I recommend this? Yes! This is a good foundation inspite of the limited shade.

MYRA-E SHINE FREE FACE POWDER

MYRA-E SHINE FREE FACE POWDER
Vitamin E enriched with SPF 15 Hypoallergenic

I’m not a person who loves shopping. I don’t go to mall unless I really needed to. But when I go to mall, I make sure to grab something for myself. That’s the reason why I bought this. That day, I went to Robinsons Manila to buy In2it eyebrow kit but its out-of-stock, so I decided to ask for Elf 2-Way Foundation instead. But just like the old times, out-of-stock. Ennkkk.
What to buy? What to buy? I’m in hurry that time so I decided to pick something for myself. Maybe, a pressed powder and eyeliner will do?  Since, I heard many good reviews on Elianto StayOn Eyeliner Pencil I decided to purchase it for myself (I’ll review it soon). (FYI, I used Avon Glimmerstick before, and I don’t like it. Why? Wait for my reviewJ) For pressed powder, I don’t really know what to pick. Then, I saw this Myra-E pressed powder. I read the box and I’m happy to know that it’s hypoallergenic. So, I purchase both. Now, I’ve been using it for more than 2-3 weeks now.

So here’s my review.

Myra-E Pressed Powder in Natural

I really like the packaging of this pressed powder. I think it’s cute. Sometimes, I do prefer simple packaging. It has a mirror which is good if you like retouching every now and then.

The sponge comes with it is okay. I tried using the sponge and it works. Though, some may find this a bit thin for a sponge. For me, it doesn’t matter. I don’t use the sponge that much anyway. I prefer flat top brush.

The coverage is very light. So light that I can’t even see the powder when applied on my face. LOL! It doesn’t cover any blemishes I have. BUT, what I like is the finish of this powder. The finish is smooth. It smells good too (the smell is enough reason for me to purchase it again!). I do like that it is hypoallergenic, it has SPF 15 and it has Vitamin E too. The staying power is decent. It stays 2-3 hours on me.

I think the smooth finish and smell make me wanna buy it again! Overall, I get more than what I paid for.

Price: Php 139.00
Rate: 4/5
Would I recommend this? I like this because of the smooth finish and the smell. BUT, If you're looking for a pressed powder that's superb in oil control, I wouldn't recommend this.

OFF-TOPIC

CLOSEUP WHITE NOW
This morning, I bought CloseUp White Now. Just want to try if it can whitens my teeth in just ONE BRUSH!

So, here's my initial review.

I do like the Advertisement. It makes me wanna buy. Instant whitening for just 1 brush? Wow! I have to try this! Honestly, it doesn't whitens my teeth in just 1 brush.  Maybe, after 3 days? So, I still have to wait for 3 days. Not bad though.

Other than that, I like that this gives me a clean feeling.

What I hate about this is the color while brushing. Yea, I know it has blue foam/gel or whatever but I never thought that it's actually blue when you brushed! Heck! And it leaves stain on my brush! Believe me, it's hard to remove.
Overall, I think I still need to continue using this to see the effect. Until then. I'll post a review after 3 days.

IN2IT OIL CONTROL AND OIL FREE FOUNDATION

IN2IT OIL CONTROL AND OIL FREE FOUNDATION
2 Way foundations, Extra Coverage, SPF 25 UVA/UVB

Yes, I’m going to review the infamous In2it Oil Control.

Originally, I was going to buy Elf 2-way Foundation at Trinoma (FYI, Elf is my holy grail and I’m on my nth pan). I’ve been looking for Elf 2-Way Foundation in Beige for quite some time but it seems like it’s always out-of-stock everywhere I go!! Darn it! So, I went to Trinoma hoping to find one! Guess what! It’s out-of-stock ... again!

I’m really in need of powder foundation that has good coverage!

And then I saw this In2it Oil Control and Oil Free Foundation. I was tempted to buy it because everyone in GirlTalk was raving about it. Some say it’s a dupe of Mac Powder, others say it’s better than Mac. I was happy to know that they sell this in refill so it won’t hurt me that much if this will not work on me.

I was really excited to try this. This is my 1st purchase from in2it. If you’re wondering, I bought the refill, in pink case with sponge, the shade is in OCR 02 Warm Beige.

I like the sponge way way way better than Elf. LOL. But, it doesn’t matter. I don’t use the sponge at all. I prefer applying it using my Bare Naturals Flat Top Brush.

The powder is finely milled! When applied, it will give you a flawless looking skin! In terms of oil control, this is superb. It stays on until the day end, so if you’re quite lazy in doing your makeup over and over, this will work for you.

“It’s my HG! Better than my Elf!” I thought. But, this powder breaks me out after 2 days of using it. It was the worst break out ever!.. and the longest, I must say!

But, honestly, I still like almost everything about this powder. It provides me with almost everything I need in a powder. It’s just that I can’t make it work for me. But at least I’m happy to know that it works for other girls out there. Overall, I would still recommend this. You just have to try if your skin can handle this. Hiyangan lang talaga! J

Believe me! It's not that white on my face.LOL!
It blends perfectly when applied on face.

PROS
>The powder is finely milled
>Superb oil control
>gives you smooth finish
>it has SPF!
>It has refill
>the sponge is actually good, it’s the softest and blends your foundation very well
>good coverage, can be use wet/dry
>for its good quality, this is actually cheap
>the compact is sooo pretty!!
>available locally

CONS
>it breaks me out (that just me!)

PRICE: Refill, P 440 ; With Compact, Php 600+ (a little cheaper than Neutrogena)
Rate: 4/5
Would I recommend this? Yes, I would still recommend this especially if you think your skin can handle it. You never know until you try ;p

Note:
Stop using it when it causes zits on you.

Here’s my daily skin care routine after the breakout:

Morning:

>Yakult as Liquid Mask
This tip was taken from: http://whenchichitsthepan.blogspot.com/2010/02/diy-yakult-mask.html
How: “I just drink some yakult and then the left over poured on a cotton pad”
>Wash my face with Facial Wash
>Apply Emu Oil (I'm using Venus and Mars Emu Oil)
>Apply Skin79 BB Cream Hot Pink
>Topped it with Powder

Evening:

>I used makeup remover to remove my makeup
>Wash my face
>Organic Toner
>Emu Oil

I’ve been doing this for 2 weeks now and it works on healing my pimples. yey!  The only problem left is the scars from my breakout. :)
