Random makeup updates (Feb-March)

If you have been following me on my twitter account and facebook fan page, you already know that my makeup kit was stolen last month. It really broke my heart. Some of the things that were in the kit include: my Maybelline Pure pact foundation (which I purchased just 1-2 days before it was stolen), Mac in Cherish Lipstick, Etude House Look at my lips #10, Marionnaud Blush brush and Chapstick lip balm. And yes, these were my top products for everyday. So sad, db? But on the brighter side (brighter nga ba?!) …now, I have more reasons to purchase and try new stuff! Lol

With that said, behold my new set of everyday makeup. These are the things I always bring with me.
 Beauty Cosmetics Pink Kabuki Brush.
Oh goodness! This is my favorite face brush so far!!!!! I love it, you want review? Let me know!
 EOS lip balm in Honeysuckle
It smells so yummy! The egg shape is super cute. It's quite bulky, I know. But I don't mind it at all! However, take note, it wasn't as moisturizing as my other lip balms in the past. Nevertheless, I still love it!
hihih. Of course, I repurchased my HG foundation from Maybelline!
 Etude House in Chic Beige.
The packaging is so gorgeous! I bought it as replacement for my two lipsticks (or as my everyday lipstick). Although, the shade of this is totally different from my Mac Cherish and EH Look at my lips #10. This is a peachy pink lipstick that has more pinkish tone than peach on my lips. It's a little lighter than my gum's color.
Other than these, I also bought some stuff last February to March
 Sleek Lipstick in Barely There.
The color is quite similar to Chic Beige on my lips. However, I don't like the formulation. This tends to settle on the lines of my lips
Eyelashes from Etude House
If you're looking for an eyelashes for special occasions, I wouldn't recommend this since it looks natural on me.
Elf Eye Primer and Line Sealer
This is my first eye primer. I've used it couple of times already. It does help the eyeshadows to stay intact the whole day. But it doesn't brightens up/intensify the colors of the eyeshadows... :(
 Eyebrow Shaver
I've been looking for this kind of eyebrow shaver everywhere and finally my sister found one at The Faceshop.
The Faceshop AQUA Tinted BB Cream
This was purchased by my sister, actually. But I'm also using it sometimes. I like how natural it is on skin plus it has this nice cool feeling once applied. It smells good too! The only thing I hate about it is going home looking greasy. This is a great product for people with normal to dry skin but for me, it's definitely a NO NO.
 Venus and Mars Products
You should try La Chica perfume, it smells amazing! The staying power is superb. Mint Espresso is the improved version of my Coffee fame.
 Free stuff from The Faceshop
 Premium Collagen Powder Drink
This is another product that my sister purchased. I just included it here because she highly recommend it.

 Dove Hair Product samples
Dove samples are everywhere! LOL! I've tried the full size hair treatment conditioner, their regular conditioner and the shampoo. All smell amazing! But I still think that for conditioner, Creamsilk is still alot better for soft and smooth hair.
Easy Brow Pencil and Eyebrow Drawing Refill
I absolutely adore these two. I do alternate them because sometimes, drawing eyebrow pencil is available in store but the easy eyebrow is not or vice versa. Actually, I purchased two drawing eyebrow refill as back-up. Basta, i love these two!
 Etude House Styling Eyeliner
Decided to pick this up  since I want to have a white eyeliner for my waterline. It is so smooth that it glides super easy without dragging it too hard on my waterline. It doesn't last the whole day, though. Nevertheless, I still like it.
 Ever Bilena Dip Liner
Just got it since I never had anything like this before. I'm quite surprised on how easy it is to use. But it's not waterpoof.
Etude House Lip and Eye Makeup Remover
Etude House changed the formulation of this makeup remover according to the S.A. So, I went home to compare the ingredients. Unfortunately, in the old packaging the ingredients are not written at the back. Anyway, what's funny about it is that they did changed the packaging but the name of the product is still "LIP AND EYE REMOVER" Lol!
 Celeteque DermoScience Facial Wash
Remember my old review on Celeteque facial wash? You know how much I love it, right? I don't know why I stopped using that but just recently I decided to try it out again since my skin is becoming dry again. Honestly, inspite of being one of the products in their new line called "Dermoscience" I still feels like that the old formulation is just the same as this new one, which is great for me. If you have dry to combination like mine, you should give it a try.

The next few products are some items that sponsors sent to me for review and for me :)

Okay, even before this giveaway contest I seriously love Celeteque especially the Celeteque facial wash and exfoliating wash. I tweeted it several times already. But I won’t be giving facial wash and exfoliating wash, instead I will be giving away 2 Celeteque Advanced products. Yes! You ladies are so lucky! It’s their newest line and more expensive than their regular line. Honestly, I haven’t tried it yet but I’m still saving my money so I could buy their celeteque advanced products. Can you imagine how lucky you are? You’ll get it for free… That’s how I and Celeteque love the readers of my blog.

I was really happy when Jhia, the owner of Red Jhelli Shop contacted me and offered me to do a review on their lenses. Wow, I’m a fan of circle lenses. Infact, let me show you pictures with my GEO LENSES in ANGEL GREY

See, it’s really pretty right? So I agreed to do a review on their lenses! And ofcourse, I asked her if she could sponsor me some products for my lovely readers!

She agreed to sponsor me 2 LENSES for my lovely readers! Isn’t she the nicest?

Aside from that, she is also selling MARY KAY products. Yes, you’ve seen my review on a Mary Kay concealer right? She found me because of that review.

Le Faerie Cosmetics is your best source of quality makeups and brushes at affordable prices.

Bee Yu, the marketing Manager of Le Faerie Cosmetics, agreed to sponsor me 5 lipglosses for my giveaway. I got 1 for free and will be featured on my blog. I love the lipgloss. The effect on my lips is really amazing! The effect reminds me a lot of Watershine lipstick by Maybelline. It gives my lips a watery healthy finish and the staying power is not bad for a lipgloss.
Aside from Lipglosses they’re selling palettes too, which reminds me a lot of Coastal scent packaging, makeup brushes and more!

And last but not the least,

I know you’ve heard of this shop since they’re pretty popular online store here. Suyen is the owner of this online store. I think she is also the owner of Thriftshop, a store that carries assorted new, secondhand & vintage clothes, accessories, shoes & home goods.

CELETEQUE PRODUCTS

Do you know that scientists and beauty bloggers have some things in common?

We basically follow the same basic rules: creating hypothesis, experiment and conclusion.

Being a beauty blogger can be fun because you can share things that you are most passionate with. But, just like a scientist, being a beauty blogger is a difficult profession and even more difficult when your weakness is English. BUT, for me it is not only English that makes beauty blogging difficult, indeed, it is the characteristic that you have to possess as a beauty blogger. You have to be really patient, honest and observant.  Just like what I told you, you have to pretend like you are somehow a scientist. Of course before blogging you have to test the product first for atleast  few days, weeks, months or if you like even years in order to arrive in a most accurate conclusion. You have to be honest at all times. Do not cheat! If it works for you then good, if it’s not then tell the truth. Anyway, our main purpose is to inform our readers, right?

Today, I will be reviewing products that I tried religiously for a month. I must admit, it was hard for me to do a skin care review rather than makeup reviews because it requires more time and loyalty. You can review a lipstick within a day of usage but never a skin care product. You know why? Because you need alot of time to see the real effects. Plus, it’s not hundred percent accurate. Why? Because every products you’re using affects your skin in every way. For example, you might think that it’s your facial wash that softens your skin, but it’s actually your moisturizer. You get me right?

But I will do my best to be as accurate as I could in my reviews.

Let’s begin.

Oh my, I love: Facial Wash and Exfoliating Wash
Okay, just an average product: Toner and Moisturizer

FACIAL WASH

For the longest time, I’ve been loyal to Pond’s Facial Washes (for more than 6 years). But when I started blogging, I started trying different brands such as St. Ives, Neutrogena, Body shop Natrulift, Olay and more. I wouldn’t say Celeteque was the best among all but considering the price; surely, it does a great job!

There are two factors why I decided to purchase this: first, it’s on buy 1 take 1 promo, secondly because of the things written on the packaging.

So, let me begin with a more organized review.

Consistency:
The consistency is very liquidy and runny like water but slightly thicker.

Packaging:
I find the tube packaging not appropriate for the consistency of the facial wash. It would have been better if it comes in a pump. What do you think? But, well it doesn’t matter. Maybe the reason is packaging like this is more affordable compared to pump one.

Cleansing Power:
It cleanses but not totally. I still see makeup on the cotton I used when I am applying the toner on my face after cleansing but it doesn’t really bother me that much. In fact, I like it that way. I know most of you might dislike this product because of that reason but we all have our own preferences. If you’re looking for facial wash that is superb in cleaning and removing dirt and everything on your face, I highly suggest that you buy Pond’s activated carbon. I will do a review on that some time in the future. One thing I hate about Pond’s is that it is so drying on skin but you could make it works for you by applying good moisturizers on. For celeteque facial wash, I like using Body Shop cleanser first (or you can try pond’s cold cream) to remove my makeup then proceed with facial wash. It works best for me.

What I love: Doesn’t make my skin dry unlike most facial washes.

Rate:  4/5

Celeteque Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash

Consistency:
It has beads for exfoliating; the consistency is slightly thicker than water.

Packaging:
Same as Celeteque Facial Wash

Cleansing and Exfoliating Power:
Before I got this, I’ve been really loving St. Ives Blemish and Blackhead control. I still love it though. I would still like to repurchase that one and ofcourse this one depending on my skin condition. You know, my skin is really complicated. Last time I checked “Skin Perfect” (3rd week of April) they told me that my skin is really dry. So, I stopped using products that will make it even drier. But now, my skin is nothing but oily. That’s why I do buy different kinds of facial washes depending on my skin condition.

When my skin is super oily, I tried using St. Ives Blemish and Blackhead control atleast 3-4 times a week. But during the time when my skin is a bit drier, I used Celeteque.

One thing I like about this is that it is an exfoliating wash but it doesn’t make my skin dry. Though, it is not advisable to use it for everyday so I alternate it with my facial wash.

What I love: If you are looking for an exfoliating wash that doesn’t make your skin really dry, try this!

Rating: 4/5

CELETEQUE FACIAL MOISTURIZER

Consistency:
comes in a clear gel water based moisturizer

Moisturizing Power:
It’s pretty average since it is a gel type but yes, it moisturizes my skin but not as good as my other moisturizers. If you are oily skin and you still want to moisturize your skin without the feeling of greasiness, I highly suggest that you try this.  It is so light on skin that sometimes you forget you’re wearing one. BUT, if you have a really dry skin, I suggest that you skipped it. Try thicker moisturizers.
What I love: I love using this during hot days and sometimes when I don’t like adding more greasiness on my oily face

Rating: 3.5/5

CELETEQUE OIL CONTROL TONER

I tried the Alcohol-free toner before and I like it. It doesn’t sting on your face since it doesn’t have alcohol content. It’s very mild and gentle like putting water on your face. Works well for people with dry skin.

But this oil control toner is advisable for people with oily skin. With my skin condition right now, I like it more. Though it has an alcohol content, it’s not too strong unlike other toner that I’ve tried. Yes, I agree that you could still smell the alcohol in it and it hurts your eyes when you apply this somewhere near your eyes but the reason is simply because it still has alcohol content.

I would say that it is just a typical toner like Belo and Pond’s Toners. Nothing really special. It is good in controlling oil especially when you put this at night. It keeps your skin oil-free when you wake up.

May Collective Haul

Hi ladies! So this post is about a little collective haul that I got throughout the month of May, nothing really special. I don’t usually do hauls of the month but whatever, I feel like doing it! So please bear with me. :) Btw, I got only little stuffs to share with you because I don’t usually buy lots of things especially during summer. No school means no allowance, you know.

So let’s start!

First thing I got are these Celeteque Products because it’s on buy 1 take 1 promo. I tried Celeteque Toner before (alcohol free) and works for me so I decided to try the other products. (note: I will do a detailed review one of these days.. i need more time)

Sorry, I can't remember the prices :(

Celeteque Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash-I love this! It’s not harsh on skin unlike most facial exfoliating wash

Celeteque Facial Wash- my current favourite facial wash!

Facial Moisturizer

Celeteque Oil Control Toner

Then, I went to Paterno in Quiapo to buy myself new eyeglasses. I prefer eyeglasses more than contact lenses at home ofcourse. I like buying my eyeglasses there because it’s not expensive and the quality is actually good! I got my previous eyeglasses (forgot the name of the store, sorry!) from the same store too and is still in good condition until now. That’s 5 years long! But I decided to buy something new. ;p (Price: around Php 2,000)

This month I also purchased a handbag polish from Sophie Martin Paris. I won’t say it’s great in removing dirts and stains but somehow, it works. Just manage your expectation. It removes dirt on my bags but not ballpen stains. I like using this to polish my shoes too! Price: I think it's Php 150?? not sure.

This month I also ordered Mac Lippies but not for personal use. I sell them. Originally, I ordered 6 lippies but someone already purchased two lippies

Then, just recently I went on Market Market and purchased few items
Shoe from Milani, (price: Php 899.75) – it’s on sale!

My school shoes from Rusty Lopez (price: Php 899.75) – I know... It looks so high school! Hohoh! BUT I prefer comfy shoes more than beautiful shoes . ;) Plus, I don’t like heels on my school shoes. Hahaha!

And lastly, right after Market Market I went to ECHOSTORE at Serendra to check out Junk Not items.
Btw, we are not the owner of the Junk Not. My sister’s friend is the one who owns that brand and I think we are the only resellers of this stuff online. Yes, they do have online stores but I think they are not updating it anymore. Oh well. Just to make things clear.

So, anyhow. Here’s the stuff we got at the store.

A recycled bag (from Junk Not) made of newspaper (price: Php 300)

A coin purse made from wrappers (not from Junk Not) (price: Php 150)

A coin purse again made from plastic straws (price: php 100)

A very cute pencils made from newspaper(you can still  see the articles)!  (price: php 35/pack)

Lastly, a ballpen! (php 22)

I love eco products! Let's start saving the World! Use eco friendly products as much as possible. okay? :)

Other stuffs I got during the month of May:

Zen Organics Goat Milk Body Lotion

Zen Lip Balm, Php 75.00

Zen Glutathione cream

Zen Barako Coffee Body Scrub! Smells heavenly!

Zen Organic Oatmeal Soap i like this more than Venus and Mars soap because it's not harsh on skin and feels soft and smooth on my skin

Olay Body Lotions and Body Bath you can find this at Market Market

Ever Bilena Pro-Leg Makeup (did not works for me!) Atleast I got it on sale.

Ever Bilena Pink Petal Blush, Php 110The color once applied on cheeks reminds me alot of Sophie Magic Pink Cream

Careline Lipglosses, Php 60 each at Robinsons Malls only

Me Now Concealer Pencil and Black eyepencil duo. (because I was looking for a peach color eyeliner without glitters and can’t find one so I decided to try concealer pen as eyeliner but did not works for me. But let’s see where I could use this). Php 44 at Market Market

Chapstick Lip Balm – i’m currently loving this! Moisturize my chapped lips and I like the taste, Php 76.75.

I think that’s all for the month of May! Thank you for your time reading my blog.

xoxo
