Things I failed to blog (beauty-related)

Remember before I told you that I still have alot of things I need to blog and promised that I will do a  blog post about them really soon. Guess what, I failed! I tried, but I couldn’t find time to blog everything (one at a time). So I decided to do a group review. However, I can’t give you a comprehensive on all the products. Nevertheless, If you want me to do a thorough review on some products in this post, just leave a comment so I would know what are the products you are most interested with. (you can also tweet and messaged me on facebook)

PRIMERS:

Dr.Oil Solution Anti-Shine Dual Primer – Price: 498 – I don’t like it. It doesn’t do anything on my face.

The Body Shop Skin Primer Matte It – Price: ?? – Great primer especially if you have dry skin. But it works for people with oily skin too (or combi). Oil control is great but not superb. Amazing primer if you have flaky/dry skin, makes makeup glides easily with it. Yet, it’s quite pricey for the amount of product that I was able to get. Nevertheless, I still love it. It’s my saviour. I have a combination skin, (oily on tzone and really flaky on cheeks) and I use this on my cheeks to smoothens that surface for better makeup application.

Faceshop Pore Minimizer Cover-up – Price: ?? – Pricey for something that does nothing special. Hard to apply on face due to thick consistency.  Though it works for filling up the fine lines and pores.

Nyx HD Studio Photogenic Primer- Price: Php 650 – AMAZING! SUPERB IN OIL CONTROL!!!!! A must buy for people with oily skin (and combination). Brightens up complexion due to its color (white). The consistency is rather liquidy. However, make sure that your face is totally dry when you apply this or else, you’ll find it hard to blend it on your face.

FOUNDATIONS
Fanny Serrano Two way cake foundation in Organza - Php 399 - I haven't tried it enough yet to do a review. But the staying power is decent and coverage is good.
Faceshop Phytogenic Infinite Foundation - Good foundation. Quite expensive, though. One pot wouldn't last a month if used for everyday.

LIPSTICKS
Covergirl Lip Perfection in Heavenly - Php 395 - The formulation is good. It doesn't make my lips dry but lasts really long. The shade is definitely not nude as described in other reviews. It is slightly brighter (pinkier) than Nyx Tea Rose. However, it does oxidize on me.

Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick in Coral Pink - Php 299 - The formulation is average for lipstick, not drying and good pigmentation. The shade is pretty, great for everyday.

Etude House Look at my lips in 10 - Price: I forgot again. It's around Php 300- is a nude lipstick with peach undertone. The pigmentation is quite sheer, it doesn't makes my lips dry but do not lasts long.

LIPBALMS
Venus and Mars Lip Butter Tints in Wine Pearl - Php 180 - very moisturizing, nice shade. Great lip tint. People who hates lipstick (drying) will love this.

Mary Kay Lip Balm in Mango - Php 600 (something) - EXPENSIVE! And not moisturizing. The shade is pretty but I don't like the formulation. It accentuates the cracks and lines on my lips. The smell and color are nice, though.

Nivea Soft Rose Lip Balm - less than Php 100 - another disappointment! i don't like it, not moisturizing.

LIPLINER AND GLOSSES

Etude House Soft Touch Automatic Lip Liner - no need to sharpen. Affordable. The shade I got is very close to my lipcolor, thus, appears nothing on my lips. Staying power is so so.

Wet n Wild Lip Liner - I love the formula. Very Affordable, one pencil will lasts me forever. Glides smoothly on lips.

Avon Lip liner and color - Great formulation, great staying power.

Careline Lipgloss - the best among all the most affordable lipglosses. I love it. great pigmentation, staying power, all! Who says you can't have the best of both worlds?

BLUSHES

Avon True Color Blush in Rose Lustre –Great blush!! Color is pretty. It’s pigmented. Good staying power. Not chalky.

In2it Blush in CW 03 Sensation- The color is beautiful! It’s a peachy shade on me. Good pigmentation. Average staying power. Not chalky.

Sansan Mousse Blush in Rosy Blush – I apply this before my Ever Bilena blush and it’s gorgeous! gREat staying power when use alone (set with powder) or use as base for blush.

Elf Blush in Peachykeen- Php 250- the shade is to die for. But it doesn’t appear pretty on my cheeks!!! Seriously, it’s like a shimmers with gold (not gold with shimmer lol) on my cheeks. Very chalky and staying power is average.

Prestige Blush – the shade is beautiful (pinky coral). Staying power is great and not chalky. It is pigmented enough.

Ever Bilena Blush in Honest - Php 150- the packaging looks good. The blush is really pretty (coral). The staying power is great. Overall, I highly recommend it

EverBilena in Pink Petal - I don't like the twist-up packaging. The blush is pretty but not as pigmented as EB Blush in Honest.

Elf Blush in Glow - Php 120- the color is gorgeous, a coral blush with gold shimmers. However, the packaging is very cheap, the powder is not as pigmented as I want it to be, it is very chalky too. I wouldn't repurchase again.

Eyebrow Pencil and kits

Elf Eyebrow Kit in Light, medium, dark - Php250 each - good buy. Comes in 3 shades, quite affordable. The packaging is cute and handy. Stays until the end of the day. The wax in the kit is good enough, the powder is pretty chalky.

Modelco Designer Eyebrow Kit - Php 1400 - expensive. Comes with 4 stencils (very fine, fine, natural and full), 2 angled brushes, spoolie and tweezer. The wax is really good. The powder is pretty chalky. The angled brushes are perfect for filling the hairs, spoolie is small but useful and the tweezer is good. Overall, a great eyebrow kit but overpriced (for me!)

Etude House Easy Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown- I love eyebrow pencils from Etude House. It works really well on me. This one is a pointed eyebrow pencil, you need to sharpen it. Dual ended. Comes with a brush. The shade is not really dark brown. It's lighter brown, perfect for people with black hairs but wanted a lighter eyebrow.

MASCARA

The Faceshop Extreme Volume Mascara - my HG non-waterproof mascara. The only mascara I used for everyday. It doesn't smudge on me but can be removed with soap and water. It doesn't give me a panda eyes when I accidentally rubbed it off my eyes. I like it so much

Revlon Beyond Natural Mascara - good waterproof mascara. It does lengthens my eyelashes. Hard to remove, though. Perfect for special occasions. The applicator is easy to use for upper and lower lashes.

Gel Liner

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Gel Liner - Php400 something - I got mine on sale (Php 314). The gel liner is as creamy as Mac Blacktrack. The brush that comes in the liner is pretty good, but I use angled brush since it's alot easier to use. It doesn't last forever on my eyes but lasts longer when sets with black eyeshadow.

Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack -Here is my first review on Mac Fluidlne. Yes, it smudges like it's crumbling. It doesn't lasts long when use alone (lasts longer when sets with black eyeshadow). However, I had this for a year now and I can still use it! Amazing, right? It's expensive but really worth it!

Liquid Liners

Tony Moly Easy Touch Brush Liner - Php 458One of my biggest disappointments this year. I was looking for a waterproof eyeliner. The SA recommended this to me so I purchased it. And yes, the hell, it's non-waterproof. It's quite pricey for my taste.  I used it once and never ever used it again. What a waste of money. When it dries, the color turns to be gray rather than black.

Fanny Serrano Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner - Php 198 - the cheapest felt tip liquid liner I had. It does stays long on my eyes, but not forever. Can be easily removed with soap and water. Great liquid liner for the price (really).

Eyeshadow Palettes

Clinique - The purple is gorgeous, (perfect for everyday, work/school and even occasions). The definer (dark brown) is perfect as crease color. The dual ended brush is decent for touch ups.

Avon  Quad  - Another gorgeous color combi in a palette. The colors are quite pigmented and not chalky. The packaging is identical to the blush.

Avon Quad - great for everyday and work. I love all the colors, honestly.

Nyx Glitter Cream Palette - I got it for free when I won a giveaway from this store. The first three colors are really beautiful, but the two colors, does not appear really well on me.

Almay Quad-  favorite quad among the rest. The 1st color is gorgeous as highlighter or if you want to brightens up areas of your eyes (or even face).

Elf Quad - very pigmented. Great for smokey eye look. I don't like it though since it is very chalky.

Sk
FACIAL WASHES

D & G light Blue and Benetton Paradiso and Inferno
Benetton Paradiso and Inferno is a cheaper alternative for D & G Light Blue (has more citrus scent). However, D&G stays longer on me.

Venus and Mars La Chica
Smells really good and amazing staying power!! Seriously, you should try it.
Goody Stayput (200php plus)
Quite expensive but it is definitely a slide-proof clips.

Etude House Color my Brows

Hi lovelies! After many years, :) i finally decided to post this review! I had this for a couple of weeks now (or maybe, months? Weee! I can no longer remember). Etude house color my brows is basically an eyebrow gel, and definitely not a hair dye.

The use of eyebrow gel can be the same as the use of a hair gel. It place unruly hair where you want it for styling. Eyebrow gels can be clear or with tint. Tinted eyebrow gel is used to either darken or lighten the eyebrows.

Etude House Color my eyebrows is a tinted eyebrow gel. It comes in two shades:

01 Rich Brown- according to most bloggers it is a dupe for Mac Brow set in Beguile. It is a taupe color with tiny shimmers. However, the shimmers are not noticeable once applied on my eyebrows.  This color is best for people with brown to dark brown and black hair.

02 Light Brown- is a dupe for Mac Brow set Girl boy. It is a golden copper color with tiny shimmers. Just like the rich brown, the shimmers are not noticeable on eyebrows. Best for people with blonde hair or people who wants lighter eyebrow.

Most of the eyebrow gels with tint contain shimmers. Do not fret! These shimmers were placed in this gel for a very good reason and that is to make the eyebrow hairs appear more realistic (and not flat). If you still can’t get it (or imagine), try applying a mascara with brown-black shade (without shimmers) on your eyebrows then compare it with the eyebrow gel with shimmers. You would likely see the difference between the two.

The packaging comes in this folder like paper where the product is inserted inside. The folder has instructions on how to apply the product but unfortunately, it is written in Korean words which admittedly, I cannot understand. This has actually no use for me even the illustrations, I just can’t understand it! However, at the back of the folder/cardboard, there is an instruction written in English, finally! The shade is also indicated here.

The color of the tube matches the color of the product inside.
The applicator is like a mascara brush.  For first timers, this can be tricky. The first time I tried it, I ended up looking like someone with really thick eyebrows... seriously thick eyebrows!

I normally apply it starting from the arch of my eyebrows brushing it lightly in the direction of the hair, as if I’m applying a mascara, working my way down to the starting point of my eyebrows. Then, I go back to the arch going down to the end of the arch of my eyebrows.

EH Color my eyebrows can be used alone but I like using it after filling my eyebrows with pencil to make it look more defined and well-groomed.

The staying of power of this product is really amazing, definitely stays until the end of the day. It is waterproof, thus, quite hard to remove by just using water. however, it can be removed easily by a makeup remover, or soap and water.

PROS
-        - Lasts all day
-         -Tames unruly eyebrow hairs
-         -Quite affordable
-         -great dupe for high end eyebrow gels

CONS
-         -hard to apply (BUT practice makes perfect right?)
-

Overall, I really like it so much! I highly recommend it!

Price: Php 328!

As requested, here's my pic wearing EH Color my brows (on top of my etude house eyebrow pencil)

Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil

Modelco Designerz Eyebrow Kit (which I haven’t reviewed yet) and ever bilena pencil in dark brown have been my eyebrow’s best friends until I met this pencil from Etude House Drawing Eyebrow. I love it so much since it is easy to use. Before, it will take me atleast 10 minutes to do my eyebrows but now, I could do my eyebrows in just a minute. Unbelievable!

In addition, this saves me alot of money. Seriously! Modelco Designerz Eyebrow kit costs around Php 1400 and Ever bilena pencil would costs me Php 90 but it will not lasts me more than a week. Why? I keep sharpening it! I know, that is ridiculous but I don’t use unsharpened eyebrow pencil. I want my eyebrow pencil to be super thin ‘coz it is easier to work with. But with this EH Drawing eyebrow pencil, no need to sharpen!! It saves me time and money!

Shades:
I got it in #3 which is brown. T
his EH Drawing eyebrow pencil comes in 5 shades
01 dark brown
02 grey brown
03 brown
04 dark grey
05 grey
06 black

EH Drawing eyebrow is a dual ended, convenient for travelling. It has a pencil on one side and a spoolie brush on the other side.
The pencil side has this slanted triangular shape, perfect for shaping.
Also, because of the unique shape of the pencil, I can control the thickness of the line on my eyebrows.
The spoolie brush brittles are soft enough to blend the pencil.

The pencil itself is not waxy but glides smoothly. You can use eyebrow gel to keep your eyebrows even and in place. I recommend Etude House Color my brows.

The pigmentation of this pencil is just right, perfect for filling your eyebrows without looking too thick/heavy. Although it is lightly pigmented, I never had hard time shading my eyebrows since the color is buildable (as shown below).
The staying power is great on me. Definitely stays until the end of the day. But, if you don’t have eyebrow hair/thin and uneven eyebrows I would say that this might not stay the whole day. My sister who borrowed this to me went home with a half-done eyebrows. So, it is important that you don’t  over plucked your eyebrows. Otherwise,  this won't work on you.

Although this is a Korean product, this is not pricey. The whole pencil costs me only Php 128! Plus, you can save more if you buy refill instead of buying the whole pencil on your next purchase.

Overall, this is a perfect eyebrow pencil for me. In fact, this is my most recent HG eyebrow pencil. It is cheap and easy to use! It works well. Perfect for travelling, perfect for everyday use and perfect when I am always in hurry!

PROS
-          -No need to sharpen
-          -Great color selection, comes in 6 shades
-          -Slanted shaped, easy to use
-          -Stays the whole day on me
-          -Glides smoothly
-          -Enough pigmentation
-          -Refillable
-          -Travel friendly
-          -Comes with a spoolie brush
-          -Cheap!

CONS
-          -Won’t stay long for people with over-plucked hair

Mid-June Haul

First, my greetings to all dads! Happy Father’s day to all dads!

Secondly, a shout out to my twin’s friend Jessica. Hi Jessica! Thanks for reading my blog! When my twin told me about you, I was flattered and worried at the same time. Oh my goodness, you’re a UP graduate (now, taking Medicine at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila) and you’re reading my blog. I’m sure you’re very good in English but thank you for appreciating my blog. Feel free to correct my grammars hahaha! Just kidding! But seriously, I was very happy when she told me that you are really reading my blog without knowing that Elena is actually my sister. J

Third, sharing time! These are the few things I got for mid-June. I bought very few makeup items, yey! What a good girl, Eloisa! I’m so proud of you.

Anyways, let’s start!

Makeup Items:

Modelco Designer Eyebrow Kit in Dark
My first purchase for the month of June. I got this from GTalk. I know. I still have many eyebrow kits from elf to finish but the hell, I was surprised that she is selling a brandnew Modelco Eyebrow kit for a cheaper price (price in Manila is around Php 1,400). I love this until I had my hair dyed. Can't use it for now   since it works well with black hairs. I might consider buying the Elf treat and tame one of these days. But for now, say hello to my cabinet. Oh I almost forgot, I use the stencils every single day. It helps me alot in making my eyebrows well groomed. I was thinking of doing a eyebrow tutorial using powder and wax, or pencils, or both. If you like the idea, feel free to comment down below.

Everbilena Original Pencil in Brown, Php 80.00
Compared to one I used before, Ever Bilena Eye Color Pencil in Brown, this is php 8.00 cheaper and the color is much lighter than EB Eyecolor. But in terms of consistency, EB Eyecolor is waxier. The only reason why I purchased this instead of the EB Eyecolor is because the shade is lighter brown. EB Eyecolor in Brown is good for people with dark hair. I will be doing a comparison and swatching in the future, no worries.
Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner in 02, Php 98
My last makeup purchased. I'm into nude lips right now. I like wearing nude lips more than pinks so I decided to buy a nude lip liner. The color is just okay. It's a nude brown with peach undertone. It looks exactly the same as my lip color.

Non-Makeup things!

Etude House Petit Darling Nails in OR203, BR305, PP901. Php 98 each
My first nail polishes purchased! Yes, you read it right. I'm never a nail polish person though I've been using nail polish before. But I don't buy my own nail polish. I always borrow my sister's and mother's nail polishes. But now, I decided to buy 3 from Etude House since they're having 20 percent off until June 21. The nail polishes from EH are really great! Stays longer than drugstore nail polishes plus the colors are really nice. I don't like the matte nail polishes though.

Etude House Essence Mask, Php 58.00
I haven't tried it yet. But i will review this as soon as I can.
Etude House Natural Jelly Cleansing Puff, Php178
Again, haven't tried it yet also since it is written in Korean. But But I guess, this is a puff you use in scrubbing your face??
Happy Teatime Water Proof Lip and Eye Remover Tissue, Php 148
I was about to buy Eye and Lip Makeup remover (liquid form) at Etude House since it is much cheaper than this. But for the 3rd time I went back, it is always out of stock! So I decided to buy this instead and I was really satisfied. I like the smell and really removes my waterproof mascara.
Etude House Greentea Nose Pack, Php 38
I haven't tried it yet since I don't have much blackheads on my nose for now. But I will definitely use this one of these days.
Etude House AC Clinic Calming Mist Spray, Php 298

The only reason why i purchased this is because of Secret Garden. Remember the girl who uses spray thing-y to moisturize her face. I told myself, "Oh, it looks fun!" So I decided to purchase anything that you have to spray on your face. I was thinking of buying the other one which is the Aqua Cure Mist but since it was pricier at Php 448 I decided to buy the AC Clinic instead. haha! Plus, since it has salicylic acid, it helps prevent acne.
SkinFood Gold Caviar Premium Kit, Php 500-600 at Ebay.ph
One thing I hate about Skinfood in Malls, they're extremely overpriced! Yes, extremely like 100-200% higher than the price in Korea or even in Ebay. The heck, never buy skinfood at Malls. Okay? haha! Anyhow, I haven't tried it yet since I still have alot of skincare products that I need to finish. but I will do a review on this once I'm ready.
Body Recipe Eye Cream in Cucumber
Actually, my twin sister is the one who bought this. Ohh, i love it! It moisturizes my eyes without hurting your pockets plus I love the scents of cucumber.
EO Flexwear Contact Lense in Gray, Php 720
Yes, it's a gray contact lense though it looks yellow. haha! It's okay, I'm not inlove but I don't hate it either. It is comfortable to wear, doesn't hurt my eyes especially when I use the solution down below. BUT, I'm still inlove with Geo Lenses. They look great one my eyes, the only con with Geo Lenses is that they are so freaking drying on my eyes. I wish EO would offer the same colors like the one from Geo Angel range.

Solo Care Aqua, Php 259
So far the best solution I ever tried! For 5 years of wearing contact lenses, I've tried different brands of solution like NeoPlus, Sauflon, Freshlook and other solutions that I can no longer remember the name. But really, this is the best so far. I wear contact lenses up to 12 hours straight and belive it, my eyes doesn't hurt that much compared with other solutions. Another thing, with this, I find it easier to put my contact lenses on. If you are someone who wears contact lenses, I highly recommend you to try this solution.

RECENT HAUL!

Hi readers, I’m back with my new haul! I know it’s not much! ;) Got some items recently but I decided not to post it as soon as I got them. Decided to do a haul with first impression on them, so I have to try them for few days. And here I am ready for my Recent Haul with a little review! ;)

(individual pictures will be followed soon ;)

First, I GOT MYSELF A NEW FONE! It's a NOKIA E5 (reviews will be posted tomorrow). Hooray for me saving my allowances!  ;) I love this! It’s cheap and very helpful to me! If you're looking for a cheap qwerty fone with wifi and 5 MP plus loaded with very nice features, wait for my reviews tomorrow.
Price: Php 8,800 + bubble case (Php 100) + Scratch free Screen Protector (Php 100) + Memory Card 2GB (Php 300) yes memory card is not included, though it is said in the box that it's included. Sellers here in the Philippine always do that, but it's okay since they're selling it at affordable price. Mall price is around Php 11, 000. Got this from Greenhills Shopping Center.

I also got myself few stuff, like Celeteque Oil Control Toner! I really don’t know it’s buy 1 take 1 promo.. I should’ve pick 2 so I could have 4 toners! Hahaha! It was only at the counter when the cashier told me it’s on promo and asked the other lady to get me another one since I got only 1. I’m quite shy to ask her to get more hahaha! Oh well. Until when is the promo? Can anyone tell me?
Anyhow, I tried it already for 2 nights and I really like this more than the Celeteque Alcohol-free one. I guess Alcohol-free is made for people with dry skin because I notice that after I apply it on my face, my face becomes sticky in a way it is like being moisturized. I hope you get that. I like Oil Control one because I believe I have an oily skin, or combination? I really don’t know. Sometimes it’s so oily, sometimes it’s not. My skin is really weird.  Hoho
Price: Php 119.75

Also got myself Ever Bilena Color Pencil in Brown. I don’t know if it’s really for Eyebrows but I asked the lady for eyebrow pencil and gave this one. I swatched it on my hands and it’s waxy which I like. I tried this on my eyebrows, but it’s really pigmented compared to other eyebrow pencils. It’s a down side though. You don’t want your eye brow pencils to be pigmented right? But I think I could make this works. Just apply it very lightly and use spooling brush and tada.. decent looking brows!
Price: Php 88.00

Lastly, veet hair removal! I’ve been using this for more than years now and I really liked this! Never fails me! I usually buy the smaller one because I don’t regularly shave legs.. only the days when I have to wear shorts and skirts. I like this because this has an amazing effect on my legs! it brightens up my legs!
Price: Php 99.75

So, that's all for my recent haul!

STYLI-STYLE BROW LINER IN 601 ESPRESSO

I’ve been using this quite long enough, and it’s already half the size when I first bought it.

True, I’m contented with my Elf Eyebrow Kit because it works for me, but I’m still in search of perfect brow thing-y. In fact, I’m eyeing on In2it Eyebrow Powder but honestly, I was still thinking to buy it or not since it doesn’t have gel or wax. Seriously, I’m used with eyebrow kit with gel. I can’t imagine eyebrow powder without it. Anyways, if you have any reviews on in2it, lemme know please!

Describe the color:
It’s a very deep brown color, and closes to being black.

What I like:
At first, I was like “Oh my! it’s too dark.” And indeed, it’s really dark for my brows! I prefer brown brows but not this dark. So, what I did, I apply it very lightly and use my favourite Spooling brush to brush it off. I use this during the days when I’m very lazy.
It’s very stress-free to apply. Definitely, just carefully apply it and brush it using a spooling and tada, hello groomed eyebrows!
I like that it is very waxy also. It’s like a color and gel in one!
What I hate:
It’s too dark for my taste. I was thinking of getting a lighter shade like a brown shade.

Price:
It varies. I got it at around Php 100 i think.(Ebay.ph) Can’t remember the exact price

Will buy again?
Maybe
