Overweight in Adolescence, How to Avoid Being Overweight

In writing this article I think teens who now suffer from having excess weight and, in turn, continue with the same eating and exercise habits that led to this overweight. Most important of normal weight not look a certain way, but feel good and stay healthy.

The good news is never too late to change eating habits and exercise to control weight, and these changes do not have to be neither so large nor so drastic. Being overweight is not the same as having a few extra pounds. Obese people are very overweight and at risk of developing serious health problems.

What are the causes of obesity?
People gain weight when they consume more calories (energy) than they burn. These excess calories are stored as fat. Gaining weight takes time.

Overweight and obesity are hereditary factors, but above all, rely on family habits. For example, many families eat the same foods, have the same habits (like eating snacks watching TV) and tend to think alike on issues related to food (for example, insisting that children eat a lot of catching " big and strong. ") All this can contribute to overweight.

How to avoid being overweight?
The easiest way is to exercise regularly and paying attention to the type and amount of food you choose to eat, that does not mean you have to be an athlete and does not mean that all day you have to eat lettuce.

To stay active, try to exercise for 30 to 60 minutes most days of the week. Walking, biking, skating, dancing or playing ball or racquets are good ways to burn calories and stay fit. Perform the following activities to keep you moving:

* Pay attention to not eating out of boredom. Do not skip breakfast, as this will help to not feel hungry mid-morning.
* Avoid eating in front of the TV.

What to do?
It is important that adolescents are overweight talk to a doctor or health specialist, as well as parents, before trying to lose weight. With professional help and family support can devise a safe plan, based on eating well and exercising. Teenagers need to eat regularly, not eating or dieting rare can only bring trouble to hinder normal development.

You may also want to keep a diary of your progress. Write down everything you eat, how much you exercise and how you feel. Changes may take time, but seeing the progress in writing will help you stay true to the plan.
