DARE TO CARE… NOW!

I’m totally loving the commercial Nido, “Check the label” simply because it heightens the awareness of our dear mothers out there to always check the label before buying any milk for her kids. But, we should not only check the foods we’re taking but also the ingredients on the products we are using everyday from Shaving cream, lotions, skin creams, shampoo to make-up removers, lipsticks and more! I’m no chemist but through the power of google, it’s possible to know the ingredients that could harm and benefits you! I know, “google--- the mind I never had.” LOL! Ladies, I know sometimes we ignore this. I mostly do. But this is the most important piece of information that we must read! Manufacturers intentionally make this so tiny so beware! Most of the time, good ingredients are often highlighted because this is what they want you to read... (ex. CONTAINS ALOE VERA)  The ingredients that will benefit you so you will purchase. BUT, It is important to pay attention to the ingredient list (the whole list) because it is a list where you find out if the product really contains safe and unsafe ingredients.

So, I randomly choose a product that I have and look for the ingredients.

MAYBELLINE CLEARSMOOTH MINERALS

:) ZINC OXIDE- used as a thickening, whitening, lubricating, and sunscreen ingredient in cosmetics. Along with titanium dioxide, zinc oxide is considered to have no risk of skin irritation. It can also be an anti-irritant and potentially an antioxidant

:) BORON NITRIDE

:) CERA CARNAUBA/ CARNAUBA WAX- Used primarily as a thickening agent, but also has film-forming and absorbent properties.
:) CETYLE DIMETHICONE- Silicone polymer that functions as skin-conditioning agent.

:) TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE-  Used as a skin-conditioning and occlusive agent.

:) TRIISOCETYL CITRATE- A trimester of the fatty alcohol isocetyl alcohol and citric acid. It is used as on occlusive agent

:) ALOE BARBADENSIS/ ALOE VERA/ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE- play a role in binding moisture to skin

:) TOCOPHEROL

:) BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE- The standard primary ingredient included in most powders that are referred to as “mineral makeup.” The claim for bismuth oxychloride is that it is all-natural and better for skin than talc.  It’s used in cosmetics because it has a distinct shimmery, pearlescent appearance and a fine white powder texture that adheres well to skin. Bismuth oxychloride is heavier than talc.
:) TITANIUM DIOXIDE- Inert earth mineral used as a thickening, whitening, lubricating, and sunscreen ingredient in cosmetics. It protects skin from UVA and UVB radiation and is considered to have no risk of skin irritation

:) IRON OXIDES- Compounds of iron that are used as colorings in some cosmetics.

Wow, all ingredients are :) (good on skin). BRAVO! Try to read labels of your favorite/ everyday makeup. This site will help you understand these terms.
